Trace mask is a collaborative design project with Lisa Jiang.
This project explores the dissonance between memory and the actual event. The initial inspiration is drawn from fluid dynamic paintings in milk, ink, and detergent. Trace draws influence from kinetic sculptures, investigating the dialogue between organic and mathematical forms. The aim is to create garments that are in constant motion, evolving from moment to moment like trails of smoke. The masks were in order to explore the idea of the fluid dynamic paintings extending over the entire body, including the face, ankles, and feet.
