Today, the use of materials from biological waste has spread in many sectors to propose an alternative to materials that are not compatible with the environment, leading us to rethink the way we design, manufacture and experience products.
With the 3D Printing biomaterials workshop we want to propose a design methodology that accompanies every creative in a functional design path, from the choice of biomaterials to the final product. Starting with the composition of bio-based materials from organic waste, participants will use Grasshopper to create a parametric design and generate paths for 3D printing, concluding the workshop by printing their own design with their own material.
This methodology aims to create a relationship between material and design using a computational approach. At the end of the workshop, participants will have acquired a general knowledge of the use and behavior of biomaterials, how to generate printing paths through Grasshopper and finally all the requirements to 3D print a bio material.
